About Industry Norms
The Norwegian Securities Markets Association develops self regulation by translating the legal requirements regulating our industry into practical guidelines and standards for conduct and control. This high prioritized task secures the professional quality of our members' products and services.
The purpose is to secure orderly and safe trading in shares and other financial instruments in Norway.
NSMA establishes two kinds of industrial norms; Recommendations and Standards. The industry standards are adopted by the board after consultation with the member companies. It is assumed that each member complies with the standard. The industry recommendations are also adopted by the Board of Directors. Members are strongly encouraged to follow these recommendations.
